Where It All Started

OG of The 609
The Kind Collective was doing harm reduction work in Trenton, NJ long before we became an official movement-thank to, Magui Senior! His life's journey laid the foundation for what we've built: a movement that is unapologetic, supportive for all members in our community, scrappy, loving, community-centered, and devoted to making the 609 a place everyone, no matter where you are in life, is loved and respected.
We love you, miss you in the 609, and grateful for
everything you gave us.

Founder
JC continues the work his father began—showing up with love, support, and an unwavering fight against the deep inequalities facing people who use drugs and those experiencing homelessness in Trenton. After losing his father to an accidental overdose, JC made a promise: no one struggling with substance use in the 609 will be left behind. We fight—relentlessly—until we see real change in our community, no matter what it takes.
Together, through our shared pain, grief, and lived experience, we have the power to challenge and dismantle the racist systems that have devastated our communities for generations.Community, and love before profit.
